BB cream is for Body Confidence!

Let’s talk about make up.

In no way shape or form do I consider myself a beauty blogger – I have trouble putting on eye liner! However, I do like to wear make up to both work and when I go out so that I feel confident in my look.
On a night out with the girls recently the conversation turned to BB cream. The girls were raving about how they had ditched using expensive foundation everyday and had switched to using BB cream instead.
BB cream (stands for Beauty Balm) is promoted as an all-in-one facial cosmetic product to replace serum, moisturizer, primer, and foundation. It can be worn alone as a tinted moisturizer, over serum and moisturizer as a regular foundation, and under powder, depending on the desired amount of coverage.
Having spent a fortune on foundation over the Christmas break I was keen to find an inexpensive BB cream for everyday use. In I ventured to Priceline (Albert St, Brisbane) where I met the loveliest and very well informed make up artist.
Here I was introduced to the touch in SOL brand. First I trialled the primer to even skin tone and texture and to lessen my red cheeks (I’m accepting of them and haven’t gone down the path of laser therapy). The redness vanished before my eyes.
Next Pure Dew Water drop BB cream was applied and I was amazed at how good it felt on my skin – it applies intense moisture! What blew me away however was the coverage – it was flawless and long lasting.
Then things got crazy. I was asked what pressed powder I used and replied that I had Napoleon camera finish, MAC studio fix and Bobbi Brown pressed powder and was then asked if I had heard of the Australis brand?!?!
“Australis” I exclaimed “I haven’t used that since 1994!!”. But there before my eyes the Australis pressed powder matched perfectly to my complexion and provided a creamy and flawless finish.
So purchase I did – the BB cream ($39), the primer ($24), the pressed powder ($12) and make up brush ($24). The total amount equalled the cost of my foundation!
What’s more I have had so many compliments since wearing it to work everyday.
BB cream will definitely remain in my kit for achieving body confidence! I urge you to try it too and share your experience using hashtag #bbbodyconfidence
